IT Associate
COMPANY: Pacific Air Industries / Air Cert (a holding of Permanent Equity)
POSITION: IT Associate
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
HIRING MANAGER: Dave Filz, IT Director
DESCRIPTION
The Company
Founded in 1959, Pacific Air Industries & Air Cert are the aerospace industry’s trusted partners for expendable airplane parts. We help airlines and other air-carriers keep their planes in the air by providing competitive pricing on our extensive inventory and same-day shipping. We can achieve this level of service through partnership with our in-house FAA Part 145-repair shop, Air-Cert. Today, we are supported by a group of long-term investors looking to build on our strong legacy. Our vision for Pacific Air and Air Cert relies on us leaning into technology. We want to upgrade our ERP, and then get the most out of it. We want to use the data we already have in the best way possible and then carefully add new data sources when we are ready. To do these things, we will need an IT professional to implement and adopt new technology, new features of that technology, new data visualizations and new businesses processes to institutionalize these improvements. Hence, the opportunity.
The Opportunity
To build upon our excellent 60 year reputation in the aerospace community, we are seeking to put a strong foundation of technology and business processes in place to help us do more of what we have always done, more efficiently and effectively. This role will merge skills across a) help desk b) data architecture c) change management, all focused on our technology nervous system. You will be asked to help us implement new technology solutions in our sales & inventory processes. Then, once you are comfortable with our existing infrastructure and business processes, you will help us transition to a new, more modern ERP, which will be the backbone of our company vision. This will involve helping us select solutions, design the implementation based on our business processes, execute those implementations and bring along the broader team throughout.
There is a massive world of new technology that can help us improve our processes, and we need to find the right stack that works for us. You will help us design this stack from the ground up, built around our needs and capabilities. Additionally, we have done an excellent job of tracking data in our business operations, but we have a long way to go in putting it to use. You will not only help us architect our core databases, but also build dashboards that deliver value to our sales team. In other words, you will help our teams to focus on their core functions and make all the data & technology fall into the background. An ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated success in implementing new technology, especially in the aerospace industry
Ideally, at least 3 years of work with a major industry ERP, like Quantum, Pentagon or AvSight; or experience implementing a more mainstream ERP into aerospace, like Dynamics, SAP or NetSuite
Help desk and change management experience
Experience building and working with software stacks and database solutions, especially with cloud solutions
Strong computer skills (MS Office), with data visualization tools and Excel experience a strong plus
Passion for aerospace and/or small businesses a strong plus
A “get it done” attitude
Interested candidates should send a resume to jasonh@pac-air.com.
